Night 1, 2, 3 & 4:

La Bastide de Gordes: this splendid edifice, with its sober and majestic facade rising proudly the lovely terraces offers the unique opportunity to stay in the medieval village of Gordes .

Suggested drive:

  • L’Isle sur la Sorgue, animated village crossed by a lovely river, and colorful Provencal market
  • Village des Bories, strange collection of dry-stone dwellings
  • Gordes, climb trough the lavender fields to the 12th century village
  • Abbey of Senanque , 12th century Cistercian Abbey
  • Rousillon, the crimson village in the “French Bryce Canyon”
  • Pont du Gard, Roman masterpiece of architecture for this water aqueduct
  • Avignon, great city of the Popes and major artistic center of France, in medieval walls

Night 5, 6 & 7:

Hostellerie Bérard: dominating the vineyards of Bandol, this hotel offers comfort, and the quintessence of a luminous cuisine

Suggested drive:

  • Arles, Roman amphitheatre, known as Les Arènes
  • Les Baux, at the top of the Alpille ridge, an unreal medieval village
  • Montagne Sainte Victoire, rough pyramid with light made of limestone rocks that reflect light, painted by Cezanne.
  • Cassis, typical fisher pier, and the Calanques, long, narrow, deep-fjord-like inlets in the limestone cliffs. Boat rides available
  • Bandol vineyards
  • St Tropez, famous seaside resort

Price: $699 per person double occupancy, including: seven nights accommodation at the above chateaux in rooms with private bath/shower; continental breakfast, an “economy” size car with unlimited mileage for 3 days, VAT, collision and theft insurance included.
