Day 1:

Chateau de Montgouverne: Surrounded by Vouvray vineyards, situated in a classified park, this 18th century home will take your breath away. To stay at Montgouverne is to experience beauty, comfort and elegance. Swimming pool.

• Chartres, one of the most magnificent Gothic cathedrals, famous for its stain-glasses and Labyrinth.
• Blois, unique town for its middle-age tortuous streets and the tri-colored houses
  Chateau de Chambord, the most extraordinary French Renaissance castle with its Leonardo da Vinci’s staircase.
• Chateau de Cheverny, great example of classical architecture, and remarkably decorated apartments
• Chateau d’Amboise, defensive medieval castle overlooking the Loire and its charming city
• The Vineyards of Vouvray, possible sparkling wine tasting
• Chateau de Chaumont, elegant castle flanked by its spectacular and numerous towers

Day 2:

Chateau des Reaux: Les Réaux may be the most charming place within the “Chateau Country” itinerary, complete with a mote. It is a 15th century jewel!

Suggested drive:

• Chateau de Chenonceau, straddling the River Cher, a fairytale castle designed by 3 women
• Chateau de Villandry, known for its garden, divided in three terraces
• Chateau of Azay le Rideau, one of the most romantic, reflecting its beauty in its surrounding lake
• The Vineyards of Bourgueil, possible wine tasting
• The Abbey of Fontevraud, one of most ancient and best preserved Benedictine monasterys founded in 1099
• Chateau d’Ussé, know as the “Sleeping Beauty Castle”

Day 3:

Chateau du Plessis: a charming 15th and 18th century castle, where the warm welcome of its owner is unforgettable.

Suggested drive:

• Chateau de Chinon, overlooking the Loire River, and where Joan of Arc changed French history
• Chateau de Saumur, overlooking the city
• Chateau of Angers, 17 round towers overlooking the Maine River and surrounded by a medieval garden. In the castle, the Apocalypse Hanging, a set of 76 tapestries, the most ancient and crucial hanging masterpiece known to man.
  

Price: $427 per person double occupancy, including: three nights accommodation at the above chateaux in rooms with private bath/shower; continental breakfast, an “economy” size car with unlimited mileage for 3 days, VAT, collision and theft insurance included.
